Total Time 1 hour hr 10 minutes mins
- 3 ripe bananas mashed
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips plus more for topping
Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mash the bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
Add wet ingredients: Stir the melted butter into the bananas. Add the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and yogurt. Mix until everything is well combined.
Combine wet and dry: Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chips: Stir in the chocolate chips until they’re evenly spread throughout the batter.
Pour into pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle a handful of chocolate chips on top for extra goodness.
Bake the bread: Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
Cool and slice: Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
